Purpose & Overall Relevance For The Organization
  • Ensure sustainable net sales and market share growth by constantly improving the commercial infrastructure, processes and strategies for the adidas Wholesale in Europe
  • Infuse the mindset of one European integrated Marketplace by ensuring harmonization in sales processes across all Zones/AKA
  • Support Clusters and relevant AKAs in achieving own KPIs per marketplace
Key Responsibilities
  • To be an active member of the SS&D management team, contributing to the EU Wholesale strategy formulation and implementation
  • To align key stakeholders to ensure excellence in EU Wholesale execution
  • To develop new business models and processes that improve organizational and financial effectiveness and build a sustainable competitive advantage
  • To turn conceptual approaches into operational processes / business models and land them as meaningful commercial propositions
  • To continuously improve the existing commercial and operational processes of EU Wholesale and Clusters Sales Development
  • To lead ongoing and ad-hoc European projects always in line with the adidas Own The Game strategic priorities and ensure implementation across EU Clusters / AKA
  • To partner with Global Wholesale to define the Trade Terms framework of the EU Wholesale accounts according to the strategic objectives of the company
  • To partner with EU Finance team to define short / long term financial targets per geography and CFE
  • To ensure implementation of the developed key initiatives and projects in areas such as Trade Terms, Commercial front-end, customer master data management, across all EU Clusters / AKA
  • To organize, facilitate and lead the EU/Zones Sales Development community meetings and ensure best practices sharing and processes harmonization across all EU Clusters / AKA
  • To develop and spread full expertise for selected sales initiatives and to become the main go-to person for Global Sales Development and EU key stakeholders
  • To ensure compliance vs Global Wholesale policies
Leadership
  • To excel in recruiting and create a high-performing team in alignment with Sr. Director of EU SS&D.
  • To lead by example through setting clear objectives, measurable growth targets and establishing a growth mindset where we play to win
  • To manage direct reports by setting personal objectives through 90 day plans, engaging in regular feedback, assessing performance and developing their skills and capabilities
  • To establish clear development plans with the team & support their execution
Controlling
  • To measure progress on own KPIs
  • To report to the line manager and, on request, the EU WHS SLT
Key Relationships
  • EU Wholesale team, Global Sales Development, DPC team, Clusters Sales Development teams, Cluster Sales Directors, AKA Sales Directors, EU BUs
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
  • Experience in Europe or Cluster Sales Development
  • Analytical Skills, WHS/DPC and Retail KPI’s understanding, proven methodological skills (e.g. business planning, strategic development)
  • Experience in Sales development processes
  • Experience in adidas sales initiatives such as Commercial Policy, Commercial Front End, Trade Investment framework
  • Strong skills in PowerPoint and Excel
  • Knowledgeable in adidas systems such as MicroStrategy, BI Tools
  • Ability to transform creative ideas to inspiring material and pass the flame to the audience
  • Strong interpersonal skills (e.g. communication, negotiation)
  • Very good functional understanding in Sales, Customer Service, Finance, IT, Supply Chain
  • Strong level of commercial and business acumen knowledge
  • Mental flexibility, initiative, determination and solution oriented
  • Fluent in written and spoken English is a must
  • Ability to work on conceptual and operational level
Requisite Education And Experience / Minimum Qualifications
  • University Degree and minimum of 8-10 years working experience including 3 years in Sales Development or Front-Line sales in a Cluster/AKA
  • Min of 5 years in the sporting goods industry
  • Project Management Experience of min. 3-5 years
