Objectives for the job:

The Director, Parts & Distribution Europe has operational oversight & responsibility for Textron Aviation Aftermarket Parts Operations within Europe including distribution centers and parts room. This position must interface regularly with operations, purchasing, customer service, and aircraft maintenance at each of the European sites and other support functions in Wichita, Kansas, USA.

This position reports to the Director, Distribution Operations at Textron Aviation in Wichita, Kansas, USA. As these operations are a part of the legal entity of Cessna Dusseldorf Citation Service Center (CSC) GmbH close partnership and support of the General Manager of Cessna Dusseldorf CSC GmbH is required. This position also interfaces with, General Managers of the respective Service Center at which each parts room is located, the Vice President, Parts & Programs in Wichita, Kansas, USA and supports the parts strategy put forth from that organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensures high level of customer service and efficiency through the receipt, stocking, picking, packing, and shipping of usable and unusable (core) aircraft parts for internal and external customers.
  • Supports customer orders and coordination of warranty, pricing, and parts database of such orders
  • Develops supply chains, negotiates with suppliers, and ensures functionality of purchasing activities
  • Sets and implements vision and plans for areas of responsibility
  • Sets goals and holds accountable direct reports including:
    • Supervisors and Managers of Parts Rooms and Distribution Center
    • Buyers and Specialists in Parts & Distribution
  • Ensures quality, safety, and environmental standards at local and corporate level are met or exceeded
  • Regularly meets with and converses with suppliers and customers


Qualifications:

  • Regularly travels to all locations and to customers or suppliers as necessary inside Europe and USA
  • Fluent in English for business applications. Other languages such as German, French, or Spanish a plus.
  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent required. Masters degree or equivalent a plus.
  • 5+ years of business, supply chain, or logistics experience required
  • Previous leadership experience required
  • Ability to act autonomously within a large and complex business network
  • Savvy in computer systems with particular interest in Microsoft Office Suite, SAP, and Inventory Systems (Lawson)
  • Comfort in presenting to people with different cultural backgrounds and nationalities
