Our Data & Analytics department within E.ON Digital Technology GmbH is looking preferably in Essen or Munich for a full- or part-time Data Scientist (m/f/d) - Energy Intelligence.
Responsibilities:
You develop data-driven and AI-based solutions that can bring ideas from pilot to commercially viable products
You distil out of huge sets of structured and unstructured data from internal systems, in combination with external sources, actionable insights
You perform explorative and ad-hoc data analysis, visualize results in an appealing manner and present the findings in clear statements to business partners
You implement batch and stream data ingesting methods including cleaning, pre-processing and verification of data integrity, as well as advanced machine learning models training and inference.
You program significant metrics and indicators with advanced analytical functions and machine learning in Spark, R and Python
You develop new advanced algorithms for time series predictions, condition monitoring, state change detection and asset optimization
You support the definition, design and implementations of domain-specific data models to fuel scalable-by-design ML/AI applications
You support the deployment of productive solutions together with product development, data engineers and data architects
Qualifications:
Ph.D. or master degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or related technical discipline
Several years working experience as a data analyst or data scientist
Extensive knowledge in statistics, machine learning (including ML model interpretability) and data mining
Track record of coding in R, Python, Spark and SQL (fluency in oder programming languages is considered as a plus).
Hands-on experience on machine learning model implementation in Cloud environments (AWS or Azure)
Familiarity with frequently used machine learning frameworks (example SciKit-Learn stack, TensorFlow or PyTorch)
Knowledge of source control management systems and CI/CD flows
Passion for science and problem solving by working on data, paired with a strong motivation to deliver valuable solutions for business needs
Enjoying collaborating internationally and across cultural borders, willing to undertake international business travel
Excellent writing and communication skills, considering varying levels of details and matching the audience
- Extensive knowledge of the energy industry and of energy markets is considered as plus
Experience with Tableau or similar visualization tools is considered as a plus
- Fluent in English and German
