Asset Engineer - Part of Shell Graduate Programme

Summary

Shell is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Asset Engineer to join the Asset Support Team of our rapidly transforming Shell Energy and Chemicals Park Rheinland. This team is responsible for:

  • Driving technical development and cost-optimization of all production assets
  • Ensuring that the integrated set of work processes deliver a risk-based scope of work which is optimized over the life cycle of the assets
  • Deliver a sustainable and reliable performance of the assets to meet the relevant business objectives
  • Ensuring that there is an asset strategy for developing, continuously improving, and updating equipment strategies
  • Validating that production teams are effective in delivering improvements by supporting team effectiveness and removing barriers
  • Supporting/facilitating structured learning and deploying digital technologies to further enhance business value delivery

The Job

As Asset Engineer you will be responsible to:

  • Drive technical development and cost-optimization of a dedicated production asset
  • Deliver the asset care plan, measure success, and drive continuous improvement
  • Deliver the scope for preventive and predictive maintenance as well as for turnarounds
  • Accountable for defining operating unit boundaries and ownership for all equipment
  • Complete, together with the data value owner, the asset register for all equipment in the dedicated asset in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
  • Support the structured Management of Change Process i.e. small projects and modifications in the asset
  • Deliver the target maintenance costs for the asset whilst managing the risk of equipment failure and consequential down-time
  • Support/facilitate causal learning and investigation of equipment failures and incidents
  • Ensure/deliver technical assurance for the asset in the relevant engineering discipline
  • Deliver a risk-based scope of work that is optimized over the life cycle of the asset and delivers a sustainable and reliable performance
  • Identify and remove barriers to progressing actions and managing resource conflicts
  • Interact with relevant engineers in the Technical Asset Operations (TAO) in India to deliver technical services

Who are you?

  • A motivated self-starter who like to roll up their sleeves to make energy transition a reality
  • Since this job is highly multidisciplinary and requires integrating the viewpoints of various technical teams, we are open to applications from various engineering disciplines such as mechanical, aeronautical, renewable energy, production, industrial, automation, process control, electrical etc.
  • Has digital expertise, skill in agile methods and basic knowledge about systems engineering would be an advantage
  • The ideal candidates will have excellent analytical skills, a very good work structure and excellent people skills to lead agile teams
  • Language requirements: German or English with willingness to quickly learn German on the job.
