At the Friedrichsdorf site, Valeo Telematik and Akustik GmbH develops and manufactures innovative power electronics for intelligent telematics, in order to network telecommunications, navigation, positioning and information technology and to increase driving comfort and traffic safety. In order to advance our further development, we are looking for you to join our team of experts at the next possible date.

Your mission

The NAD System Engineer is accountable for the specification of the NAD module hardware and modem software to be used in Valeo Telematic Control Unit (TCU) products.

The NAD (Network Access Device) is a 2G/3G/4G and optionally 5G Cellular Module, providing the cellular modem as well as some extra processing capability to the TCU. The NAD module hardware and/or software can be developed internally by Valeo R&D or supplied from a NAD Module vendor.

These challenges await you
  • Consolidate the NAD requirement specification based on market and customer expectations: features, performances, industrialization constraints.
  • Support project teams on discussions with Valeo customers regarding cellular communication technology
  • Analyse and compare the NAD suppliers and cellular chipset suppliers roadmap, products and architecture.
  • Contribute to the selection process of NAD and/or chipset suppliers best suited to the targeted specification.
  • Contribute to SW architecture definition on the NAD and interfaces to surrounding components
  • Document design choices and work products as per Valeo ASPICE guidelines
Are you ready for it?
  • Good knowledge of the Cellular technologies and standards (2G/3G/4G/5G) for the device side (UE).
  • 5-10 years experience in the design and development of cellular modem (ideally) or similar products, with good knowledge of the product HW and SW architecture.
  • Experience with any of the following topics will be beneficial but not mandatory: automotive product development, V2X, positioning, embedded Linux, TCP/IP.
  • Experience in working with external suppliers.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Autonomy, Accountability
