Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:

Our aspiration as the Finance function at adidas is to be a reliable business partner driving growth and value creation. As a central element within the Finance organization, Corporate Controlling drives financial steering and decision making through high-quality financial analysis and foresight.
Within Corporate Controlling, the financial planning team drives the company-wide Budgeting and long-term planning process.

As Director Financial Planning you will contribute to the medium and long-term planning processes to ensure achievement of the overall Total Company ambition. You will drive insightful analysis, financial modellings and provide goal-oriented executive communication.
You will work in a fast-paced, highly visible environment, and liaise with a broad set of senior stakeholders including the SVP Corporate Controlling, Corporate Strategy as well as other Finance leaders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead preparation of top-notch strategic and financial analysis and develop clear synthesis
  • Develop high-quality discussion materials and synthesize results for senior stakeholders
  • Lead financial model workstreams and use model to derive strategic insights
  • Run and further improve communication packages to present results, recommendations and solutions for business partners
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional environment, setting up structures and creating sustainable and meaningful reporting and analysis.
  • Drive continuous improvement in the area of own responsibility

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong analytical mindset and facility with numbers
  • Strategic thinker with strong commercial acumen
  • Solid understanding of finance and accounting
  • Strong financial modelling skills (Excel) and ideally experience with planning software
  • Outstanding problem-solving skills (structuring, analysis, synthesis)
  • Strong interpersonal skills including stakeholder management, influencing, executive presence
  • Innovative, action-oriented and solution-minded team player
  • Understanding of Finance IT infrastructure (ideally SAP environment) as well as financial planning and front-end reporting tools
  • Strong ability to draw to-the-point conclusions and recommendations

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree or qualification in Business, Finance or Economics
  • Min. 8-10 years of broad-based (Corporate) Finance or Strategy experience with progressive responsibility in industry leading consultancy and/or top tier investment bank and global corporations
