Your team
In your role as Digital Security Expert in the digital euro project team, you will contribute to the analysis of the digital security needs related to a digital euro. As a member of a Eurosystem team made up of 52 experts across the ECB, you will benefit from the diversity of perspectives that this provides. The team will be responsible for executing the tasks foreseen in the project investigation phase and it will support the Eurosystem project governance bodies.

Your role
conduct analytical work and define conceptual security requirements for the technical implementation of a digital euro;- participate in translating security requirements into concrete security measures;
- support the evaluation of the security implementation in a prototype;
- assist the project team in striking the appropriate balance between usability, security and the privacy aspects of a digital euro.
The position offers you excellent opportunities to explore ongoing technological innovation in the financial industry, particularly in the field of payments, and to contribute to the design of a new form of central bank money. As a member of the team, you will also have the opportunity to improve your knowledge of the payment needs and preferences of citizens and businesses, your awareness of the industrial organisation of the payments market and its relevance for the economy, and your understanding of ongoing technological innovation in the field of payments. Qualifications, experience and skills
- a master’s degree or equivalent in IT security, computer science or another relevant field (click here for details on degree equivalences);
- in addition to the above, at least three years’ professional experience in IT security governance and risk management;
- excellent analytical and drafting skills;
- experience in presenting complex functional and/or technical topics in a clear and concise manner to internal and external audiences;
- an advanced (C1) command of English and an intermediate (B1) command of at least one other official language of the EU, according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
Desired:
- sound understanding of (central bank) digital currencies or of the business and technical features of retail payment solutions;
- knowledge of payment technologies and the use cases they can support;
- experience in developing and drafting use cases and user requirements.
