Your responsibilities

  • You participate to development of new, innovative and cost effective solutions for Alkaline Water Electrolysis (AWE) cells, stacks, process and modules, with the aim to adapt or improve the design for production upscaling.
  • You execute, after a proper training phase, independent technology studies, for characteristic of materials, components and designs for respective manufacturing technologies.
  • You develop benchmarking and KPIs of production technologies and processes, with assessments of related upscaling possibilities and applicability of automation for serial manufacturing.
  • You elaborate understanding of composition of costs and cost estimations for different production scenarios.
  • You cooperate in close contact with national and international suppliers, development partners and affiliates, clients.
  • You analyze results, prepare result presentation and report the results to the business leader.
  • You develop execution concepts for the product AWE.
  • You transfer the development results or improvements to the product AWE qualification for serial production.
  • You contribute to build and maintain design and manufacturing requirement standards.
  • You participate to inspections, investigations, troubleshooting and customized solution.
  • You perform experiments and measurements at the test facilities of the company, partners and suppliers.
  • You prepare project specific documents and support gH2 Proposal & Engineering group in multidisciplinary teams of commercial projects.
  • It is also part of your job to commission AWE plants.

Your profile

  • You have a university degree in mechanical engineering, production engineering, chemical engineering (equipment design) or equivalent.
  • You gained several years of experience in sheet metal processing or design of steel structures, equipment engineering of chemical plants and ideally also in the field of (water) electrolysis or industrial electrolysis.
  • You are highly motivated, have a hands-on mentality and are team-oriented.
  • The ability to think analytically and identify upside potentials, define and perform meaningful development projects and turn results into actual solutions for engineering and execution is an absolute must.
  • Your intercultural awareness supports you leveraging cultural differences. You are prepared for close collaboration in a multidisciplinary team.
  • You are proficient in English; German would be beneficial.
  • Knowledge of 3D- and 2D CAD tools (preferably SolidEdge and AutoCAD).
  • Knowledge in modern PDM/PLM Systems.
  • You are familiar with modern communication tools and MS Office.
  • You are willing to travel inside Germany as well as internationally on a regular basis.
