What to expect

UKE and CSSB launch an initiative to establish a DFG-funded Collaborative Research Center. For this purpose, we will form a consortium together with numerous partners from Hamburg, which will bring the initiative to application maturity in the course of a year.

The advertised position will support the CRC-management to bring the project to success. For this purpose, a network of different scientific institutions will be created and supported by the advertised position (e.g. CSSB, UKE, UHH, HPI, FZB, Desy).

The Successful Candidate Will Have The Following Tasks
  • Administrative and scientific coordination of the application of a new DFG Collaborative Research Centre
  • Organisation and management of regular meetings, including remote meeting formats as well as conferences and symposia
  • maintenance of a scientific network
  • Writing and editorial work
  • Coordination of project dissemination and communication; other project-related administrative Tasks
What we look for in a candidate
  • University degree in biology/chemistry/physics or similar area and/or in the field of knowledge transfer/science management, preferably with a PhD
  • Experience in writing and publishing scientific papers and proposals
  • Experience in management of projects and in the coordination of scientific work
  • Commitment and quick comprehension
  • Team worker qualities with good interpersonal skills
  • Should be highly motivated, proactive, self-reliant, assertive, and possess excellent time management skills
  • Very good communication and writing skills in English and German (working language is English)
