Position Overview

The Threat Intelligence function is part of CSO Information Security Operations. Its threat-driven mandate is to identify threats that could impact Deutsche Bank – its people, assets, operations and interests. As part of its mission, Threat Intelligence will assess and communicate intelligence to stakeholders in order to take informed necessary action to prevent such threats impacting Deutsche Bank. As part of the Threat Intelligence Team, the Regional Lead is responsible for all operational activities and coordination within their specific region. The role is specifically responsible for the identification of threats both from a physical and cyber threats perspective.

Key responsibilities:

    Supervise all regional team activities at a strategic and operational level- operations, people and process across Threat Intelligence operations.
    Provide active guidance, support and feedback to team members with the aim of increasing operational effectiveness.
    Make effective decisions and apply judgement in a fast paced environment.
    Pro-actively identify threats from a range of intelligence sources, ensure threats are triaged, prioritised and allocated for operational action across teams.
    Pro-active identify technical threat intelligence- Indicators of Compromise (IOC’s), reports and insights in order drive protection and broader defensive activities.
    Develop and maintain a strategic and operational view of the threat landscape and emerging threats in order to drive a proactive response.
    Ensure the timely completion of threat assessments to a high and consistent standard.
    Lead on coordination with operational teams on specific threats/incidents.
    Attend key meeting on threats and present intelligence to inform and influence decision making
    Produce accurate and timely reporting at both a strategic and operational level across the threats and their potential meaning and impact to the organisation. Reports/communication should be highly accurate, relevant and timely (content should reviewed to ensure application of analysis in order to draw inferences).
    As the Lead, represent Threat Intelligence across various regional engagements (meetings, forums) to promote and raise awareness of threat related topics e.g. CISO Council meetings.
    Identify, engage and own strategic regional operational plans e.g. developing geo-political threats in the region, key events requiring a coordinated approach/strategy.

Essentials requirement:

    At least five years experience in cyber intelligence operations, preferably also across physical Intelligence operations with team supervision responsibilities.
    High standard of written and verbal English in addition to being fluent in German (verbally and in writing).
    Possess strong interpersonal skills- influencing, communicating technical information to a non-technical audience, building relationships.
    Analytical skills gained as a technical operator and as a supervisor
    Experience in managing operational teams, individual performance and development needs.
    Experienced in assessing and analysing technical data across different technologies e.g. SPLUNK and supervision of data for required action by teams.
    Operational background in managing threat intelligence and the breadth of related activities to protect the organisation from threats.
    Proven ability to identify and manage complex threats and risks
    Experience in Threat Intelligence operations and both at a tactical and strategic level
    Experience with the detection and exploitation of security vulnerabilities
    Operational experience in developing threat assessments and relation product coordination
    Operational experience in manging risks identified in intelligence and producing risk and threat assessments
    Proficient in the use of MS Excel and PowerPoint

Qualifications:

    Possess a degree and relevant cyber security qualifications/certifications e.g. CISSP, SANS and/or relevant threat intelligence certifications from an accredited organization.
