Job DescriptionThe research group of Prof. Marino Zerial explores the cellular mechanisms of endocytosis and liver biology. As our technician, you work closely with the researchers in our team and contribute to experiments as well as organizational and maintenance tasks in the group. Together with our senior lab technician, you will be in charge of the general laboratory organization and order management. You will perform standard molecular and cell biology techniques (western blots, sequencing, qPCR), but also mammalian cell culture assays (2D culture of primary cells, RNAi and viral cell transfections) and mouse work (organ collection and primary cell isolations). You will also perform fluorescent microscopy assays including tissue fixation and staining with fluorescently labelled antibodies.
Your Qualifications
We are looking for a self-motivated, enthusiastic person who is well organised, flexible, and reliable and enjoys working in a team. You should be training as a technical assistant or equivalent qualification. University graduates (BSc) are encouraged to apply. You should have a good knowledge of the German and English language (English is working language at the MPI-CBG). Proficiency in the main techniques we use - molecular and cellular biology techniques, and isolation, cultivation and manipulation of cell lines and primary cells – is required. Experience in handling of laboratory animals is an advantage.
Our offer
The full-time position is available immediately for limited period of 18 month as substitution during parental leave. Salary and social benefits will be in accordance with the regulations of the German TVöD Bund (salary agreement for public service employees). We offer a job ticket for public transport.
