The Systems Engineer applies the principles of system engineering to the sub system architecture, interfaces and design and to the selection of major components.
The candidate performs design assignments requiring initiative, resourcefulness and design experience and provides advice and guidance to other engineers or designers.
Responsibilities
- Manages the functional and technical interface between Vehicle Engineering and system Engineering according to the vehicle engineering process and provides a single point of contact in expertise for all functional and technical topics of a system, working in the multidisciplinary project team.
- To analyse and transform specified requirements, leveraging the defined platform and available components into an acceptable architecture which has the required safety integrity level and validates the architecture against requirements and assumptions.
- Examine and judge whether the output of a specific development phase fulfils respective requirements, mostly document reviews. The verifier ensures proper documentation during all project phases.
- To carry out requirements engineering and controlling change and communicating to relevant stakeholders. The requirements manager specifies and maintains the requirements in a structured and timely manner to ensure the delivery of time.
- Support the supplier, Vehicle and TCMS (Train Control Management System) engineering to integrate the systems through all levels up to form a complete subsystem, according to the architectural and design specifications.
- The agile product owner (“product owner” within the Scrum framework, or “backlog manager” in other agile documents) is the role assumed by the person who is “responsible for maximizing the value of the product and the work of the development team
- Examine and judge whether an item fits the user needs, especially in regards of safety, quality and operating environment. The validator ensures that the developed solution meets the requirements and can operate in the environment needed.
- This role is responsible for giving support on processes, tools & methods towards local and global engineering processes users and other stakeholders.
- Sc degree, MA or PhD graduate
- Typically, minimum 4 years of relevant work experience with a BSc degree, 2 years relevant work experience with Master’s degree or PhD graduate.
- System Engineering Mindset
- Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to lead a meeting internally and with suppliers, writing and synthesis ability, curiosity, and constructive spirit
- Good communications skills
- Very good technical understanding of complex systems interacting in a network
