Who You Are

Are you a developer or cloud engineer with a passion for infrastructure automation, site reliability, or improving developer experience? Smaato is looking for you to join our Systems Engineering team and help our engineering teams excel in automation, continuous delivery, infrastructure, monitoring, and operations. We design, build, and deploy highly-available Linux- and cloud-based solutions, as well as develop software tools that support the mission of our entire Engineering organization. This highly-technical, hands-on role requires breadth and depth of expertise in managing infrastructure and applications in the cloud. We are looking for a team player, willing to collaborate in a fast-paced environment, and able to work independently with high self-motivation.

What You Will Do

• Be responsible for the development and end-to-end operations of the products owned by your team
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to identify the right problems to solve
• Develop tools and frameworks to enable our engineering teams to efficiently build and maintain their services
• Develop infrastructure products and guide best practices, architecture, and technology choices used by our engineering organization
• Support the customers that use your team’s products, participate in on-call, and troubleshoot production incidents

What You Will Bring

• Solid experience in cloud-based operations at scale
• Strong experience with AWS products/services and Kubernetes
• Experience developing Infrastructure as Code in Ansible, CloudFormation, Terraform, etc.
• Experience with CI/CD solutions like Argo-CD, GitHub Actions, and Jenkins
• Experience with monitoring technologies like CloudWatch, Datadog, and OpsGenie
• Experience with common relational databases such as MySQL and PostgreSQL
• Proficiency developing in a modern language like Go, Rust, or Python
• Good understanding of event messaging, networking, and distributed systems
• Bachelor degree in Computer Science or equivalent
• Steady contributions to one or more open source projects
• Full business proficiency in English
