Web Development at SYTE

At SYTE, we aim to utilize publicly available remote-sensing data with the well-established artificial intelligence technology to enable researchers and urban developers to make informative decisions. Our users access our platform via a single-page application based on React JS. This app is centered around a map and uses WebGL to display 3D point-cloud layers to visualize buildings and terrain.

Tasks

As a Senior Web Engineer, you will be responsible for implementing new features into the user facing app(s). You work closely together with our UI/UX specialists and the backend developers to bring new features to production.

Your main tasks:
  • Implementation of new app features in the frontend
  • Researching new ways to display and visualize geo-data
  • Write unit and/or UI tests
  • Automate build processes
Requirements

We are looking for an open-minded and motivated senior web engineer with strong experience in ReactJS. You will be part of a collaborative and growing app development team based in Münster and Berlin offices with the possibility to work remotely.

Essential Requirements
  • 5+ years of professional experience in web development
  • 3+ years of experience creating SPA with ReactJS
  • Fluent in JavaScript and TypeScript
  • Strong experience with build processes
  • A good sense for UI and UX
Desirable Skills
  • Knowledge with map technologies and geo-data is nice to have but not a must
  • Some experience with Mapbox GL or comparable map solutions for JS
  • Experience with WebGL or other 3D rendering frameworks would be beneficial but not required either
  • Experience with Material UI framework is a plus
A remote position is possible but you must be located within Germany!

The reason is that we are meeting regularly in person to build up a strong team culture and we want to limit travelling effort.
