Senior Product Design Manager (f/m/d)

To support our Design practice and bring more creative, strategic, and organizational talent into our team, we are looking for an experienced Senior Design Manager. In this role, you will work closely with the VP of Experience and manage a small team of product designers. You will play a critical role in transforming and evolving our product design practice. The position is available in our Berlin office or as a remote position in Germany, the Netherlands, UK, or Ireland.

• Oversee the strategy and leadership of your product line
• Collaborate with Product Management, Research, and Engineering to deliver customer value
• Bring a structured customer-centric design approach and proven ideation and iteration process to Contentful
• Establish a thoughtful, customer-centric design practice based on iteration and customer input
• Recommend how to best leverage design knowledge and expertise within teams
• Manage multiple work streams and strategically allocate resources to achieve goals
• Communicate openly and frequently with teammates and managers about risks and opportunities
• Contribute to the overall design excellence and maturity of the organization
• Mentor and guide our team of talented designers and help expand their skills

• Experience working in cross-functional teams and collaborating successfully
• Proven experience embedding product design in software teams
• 3-5 years of experience managing a team
• Experience working with other design managers
• Experience nurturing and growing designers
• Demonstrable results of your impact on a design practice
• Experience working concurrently with the Product department
• Deep understanding of customer-centric design practices
• Track record of meeting goals, deadlines, and key milestones
• Experience in design strategy
• Effective communication and advocacy for design
