ETHICON is recruiting for a
Senior Manager Site Technical Operations (m/f/d)
to be based out of their facility in Norderstedt (near Hamburg), Germany.
The successful candidate will be a key member of the Ethicon global Technical Operations organization and a member of the Norderstedt manufacturing site leadership team.
They will have accountability for leading the site technical operations function, including product & process engineering, manufacturing technology and systems engineering and asset life cycle management.
Your Key Areas of Accountability
- Responsible for the organizational development, talent acquisition, talent development, and diversity, equity & inclusion in a high-performance technical function.
- Creation and deployment of a strategic manufacturing technology roadmap and capital master plan, aligned with the global technology platforms in biomaterial components, advanced assembly, packaging, and sterilization.
- Overall accountability for delivery of Engineering activities, including project delivery and manufacturing process performance.
- Development and management of functional goals and objectives in line with site, network, and strategic business requirements.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners including, site and functional leadership, technology platform leaders, product value stream leader and critical third-party vendors and partners.
- Accountable for development, approval, and control of functional and site budgets.
General
- Development and implementation of ground-breaking innovation as well as other major technology improvements over the strategic horizon, including deployment of digital and other future proof applications.
- Communicate platform and network portfolio priorities and updates to the site.
- Cultivate external contacts and forge internal collaboration across all levels of the enterprise.
- Provide support to the team in Root Cause Analysis of supply and quality issues as they arise through development of tools such as 8D and Six Sigma.
- Project Management - provide timely and accurate reporting and escalations on project activities ensuring projects are delivered to agreed timelines.
- Ensure technology and equipment design comply to related safety rules and the team participates and support local and global safety initiatives.
- Monitor timely closure of quality actions such as Training, Audit Actions, NCRs, CAPAs across the site.
- Performs other relevant duties assigned as needed.
- This position may require up to 20% Domestic and International travel.
Education And Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree is required in an Engineering or Science related field. Advanced degree is preferable.
- 10 years of relevant work experience in a business or technical role is required. 3 years or more people leadership and relevant functional management experience is required.
- Medical Device and/or Pharmaceutical experience is helpful.
- Project Management Proficiency (5-years of several significant project management experience required).
- Experience in building business strategies and driving strategy implementation is required.
- Six Sigma Certification and Project Management/PMP/FPX certification is preferred.
- Advanced English language proficiency is required. German language proficiency is preferred.
- Strong mentoring & coaching skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to lead multiple assignments or projects with sound analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong influencing skills.
- Drive, energy, and passion for delivering to commitments.
- Excellent planning & organization skills
