This position will support the Accounting team with all finances for the Smaato Americas region. This will include but is not limited to, cash collections, cash management monthly and annual closings, tax reporting, tax audits and other local requirements. This will be a highly visible role within the organisation and will deal with an international team including EMEA and APAC regions.
What You’ll Do
- Assist in the monthly financial reporting processes and preparation of annual financial statements, including account analysis and financial data compilations
- Take ownership for parts of the monthly close and accounting process, in particular for the AMERICAS region
- Participate in the implementation and continuous improvement of the Group’s internal financial reporting and control system, including examination of internal audit procedures
- Support the preparation and annual review of the Group’s accounting policies and procedures
- Deal with the Accounts Receivable function including collections, credit monitoring and cash projection analysis for AMERICAS
- Support in specific topics for US vendor accounts and publisher accounts (e.g. W8/W9 forms)
- Own the closing procedure, incl. Journal entries, Fixed Assets and reconciliations for cost and revenue accounting
- Assisting with Audit and Tax return preparation
- Comply with Internal Audit controls
- Weekly management of various bank activities including wire payments, deposits and corporate credit cards and bank reporting
- Communicate with international accounting team and other team members regarding complex accounting related issues
- Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with regional accounting best procedures and practices
- Work with other parts of the organisation on other special projects as needed
- Completed economic studies with at least a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/ Auditing and/ or further training to an international financial accountant
- A few years of professional experience in an accounting department of an international group
- Profound experience in IFRS and/ or US-GAAP
- Strong interest in accounting standards and internal control procedures
- Excellent attention to detail combined with a commitment to deliver high quality work, whilst able to identify and prioritise key tasks
- Pro-active attitude with an analytical and structured way of working and problem solving skills
- Ability to simplify complex accounting topics
- Strong relationship building skills to work across international borders
- Full business proficiency in English
- Experience, strong working knowledge and understanding of accounting and audit theory, policies, practices and procedures
- Experience with reconciling general ledger accounts and bank accounts
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and preferred NetSuite
