Your responsibilities:


  • As an innovation manager, you’ll either focus on ideation, testing and delivering innovation projects OR managing and connecting startups to our business units that have a specific innovation need, being the link between two potentially very different worlds
  • Being a central innovation unit, all of our innovation activities are linked to E.ON’s business. For this specific position that’s B2B and B2C retail units
  • You’ll be managing projects in complex stakeholder environments, merging various interests into solutions, supporting our int. & ext. customers on their journey through the energy transition. All while being financially sound and scalable across our core markets
  • You’ll need to strike the balance between managing the development of cutting edge technological/digital solutions while being aware of sales aspects, financial implications and the "big picture", i.e. scalability and internationalization. Same is true for connecting startups to our business
  • You connect with customers, external networks and internal stakeholders to identify new topics and potential partners, to verify hypothesis or MVPs
  • You’ll take ownership of the innovation business case and guide your projects through a stage-gate-process, preparing go/no-go-decisions
  • You’ll cover the whole innovation journey from idea, MVP, testing to product. To do so you’ll need to use a wide variety of ideation, testing and development skills and tool, picking the right ones for each project and phase - however we support each other across our teams, if a certain phase is especially challenging

Your qualifications:


  • University Diploma, Master’s degree or equivalent in business/ industrial engineering, computer science, electrical/mechanical engineering, natural science or similar relevant path
  • Professional experience and proven track record within the innovation field, i.e. project and or partnership management
  • Experience in the field of business model development/ business models that build on new digital technologies/ data analytics or energy assets
  • Ability to manage stakeholders across all levels in English and German
  • Expert in innovation management and/or specialized innovation
  • Ability to recognize new business opportunities related to new solutions, ideas and growth opportunities
  • Excellent professional communication and stakeholder management skills – able to understand complex arguments, engage with stakeholders across all management levels, influence and explain challenging decisions as well as new opportunities
  • Excellent written and oral presentation skills with the ability to produce clear and concise reports and communications to internal teams and external stakeholders
  • Strong resilience, i.e. quickly and positively managing changing priorities in uncertain situations, while proactively thinking forward
  • Willingness to travel to different E.ON sites as part of your work
