Red Gate is looking for a German speaking Sales Engineer to provide technical expertise and support to Red Gate’s partners, customers and sales teams, representing how our products can solve specific customer problems.
Reporting to the EMEA Sales Engineering Manager, you’ll be responsible for the essential technical relationship with our customers. This includes communicating technical details, running demonstrations & presentations and answering questions or solving problems. To customers we in Sales Engineering aim to position ourselves as trusted advisors, communicating and encouraging adoption of industry best practices, while also caring deeply about winning new business and meeting revenue targets.
We need a German speaker specifically to help expand our presence in the DACH (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) region. You will both be part of the wider EMEA team and the developing DACH office with a responsibility to actively participate in growing our business within those countries. This will mean participating in direct region activities, like travel to prospects/customers/partners or participation in Sales, Marketing and Partner events while always acting in the best interests of Red Gate.
Sales Engineering at Redgate is a great mix of speaking to customers and stakeholders within the company, and so are a real focal point for our solutions. We help our customers as well as educate the wider sales team and also feedback feature requests or general usage to Redgate’s internal teams. To do this, we need to own a broad technical knowledge; stay up to date with our products, the platforms they work on, the competitive landscape and the wider market.

What makes you Red Gate’s next Sales Engineer?
You have;

  • Solid experience working in a high-tech company as a sales engineer, or in a role of an equivalent technical level
  • Commercially astute with a customer centric approach
  • Fluency in technical and business German, both spoken and written
  • Proven experience working with technical clients in the DACH area
  • Educated to degree standard or equivalent
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (both in person and remote)
  • A desire to understand the issues faced by our customers
  • A genuine interest in technology and the ability to learn and understand technical information quickly

You are;

  • Socially competent, self-motivated and enthusiastic
  • A proactive team player

What would help?

  • Software development or database administration experience
  • Awareness of Agile/DevOps ractices
  • Experience of public speaking, especially to larger groups (50+ people)
