The Quality Resident is the primary contact at the customer facility and is responsible, along with the plant quality manager, for ensuring that the customer is protected from receiving defective parts. The Quality Resident (QR) is the onsite, technical high competence contact of the company for the customer Daimler in Sindelfingen.

  • Gather information anytime a quality issue is reported at the customer facility (including; product part number, product serial number, product manufacturing date and time, number of defects, impact on the customer, defect description).
  • Analyze the issue claimed by the customer and if the responsibility is not clear OR due to plant manufacturing, immediately notify the Quality Manager at the manufacturing plant, and the Quality Engineer responsible for problem resolution. Then provide the complete defect description with as many details as possible, including defect pictures when available; if the QR is unable to contact the quality manager, or the QE, or any of their hierarchical levels of management, they must proceed to implement the necessary containment actions to protect the customer (sort and rework when applicable) and continue to attempt contacting them until successful.
  • If an issue claimed by the customer is not due to the manufacturing plant, then prove the findings to the customer.
  • Support risk assessment and provide it to the team, including the backup data; the scope of the team is to fully understand the issue, evaluate the impact of the issue on the customer, perform an initial process review, assess the risk of reoccurrence at customer and assess the risk posed by a sort/rework versus the benefit.
  • Coordinate and/or perform the sort/rework per Sort/ Rework Flow Diagram DPM ESD Q021 F1 and report daily the sort/rework data to quality engineer using form DPM ESD Q021 F3.
  • Provide the sort company with all pertinent information regarding to the sort/rework (e.g. B-Requisition number, estimated number of parts to be sorted/reworked, sort/rework instruction) and ensure the sort company submits a quote with an estimated cost of the sort/rework and reports daily sort/rework results.
  • Inform the Company Distribution Center/service Center when sort/rework is completed and provide a complete list of part numbers and quantities to be returned, in order for the Company Distribution Center to generate the ASN and to invoice the customer (failure to provide this information to the Distribution Center / Service Center will result in charging the Company for the cost of the removed product).
  • Monitor and maintain zero miles trackers on all commodities and report any trends.
  • Support product launch activities at customer locations.
  • Support and represent the company at any supplier activities/events required by the Customer.
  • Degree in Engineering or similar topic, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong experience working on quality topics
  • Experience and knowledge of the wire harness field.
  • Daimler experience would be an advantage.
  • Fluent English is mandatory.
