Jobinhalt

At JetBrains, code is our passion. Ever since we started, back in 2000, we have strived to make the most effective developer tools on earth. By automating routine checks and corrections, our tools speed up production, freeing developers to grow, discover, and create.

The Kotlin Multiplatform Mobile IDE team is working on improving our IDE tooling for Swift and the Apple platforms. Our goal is to also make Kotlin Multiplatform a great ecosystem for iOS developers, including comprehensive support for Xcode projects. We want to make the transitions between the Kotlin and Swift programming languages more seamless and create a more cohesive development experience.

Our priorities include providing a unified experience for developing iOS and Android apps, implementing support for running and debugging on devices and simulators, adding support for running automated tests, maintaining our Swift and Objective-C language support, and more.

How we develop our IDEs:

Our IDEs, such as IntelliJ IDEA, WebStorm, PhpStorm, RubyMine, PyCharm, and CLion, are based on the IntelliJ Platform.

The entire development process is completely transparent, and everyone can participate in any task. Team members are in constant communication with each other, both face to face and via Slack. All changes are covered by automated tests and code is reviewed before proceeding to manual testing. We perform thorough functional, usability, and investigative testing to ensure high functionality and reduce the possibility of regression.

Openness to community feedback is an integral part of the JetBrains culture. All team members communicate with our users, discuss newly proposed features, take part in troubleshooting, and provide bug descriptions. We also interact with our customers on web forums and at technical conferences.

As part of our team, you will:

  • Perform functional and exploratory testing for various IDE components.
  • Perform usability testing.
  • Work with users in our bug tracker and pre-process tickets.
  • Reproduce problems affecting both new and existing functionality in different environments.
  • Participate in discussions about new functionality, planning, and product releases as a strong voice within the product team.

In addition to your technical abilities, you should have strong communication and problem-solving skills, as well as a keen eye for detail.

We would be excited for you to join our team if you:

  • Have at least 1 year of experience as a QA engineer, or in a related role.
  • Have attention to detail and share the belief that software products should be user-friendly and of high quality.
  • Are proficient enough in Objective-C, Swift, Kotlin, Java, C++, or other OOP languages to create simple applications and understand code written by others.
  • Can find and reproduce complicated functionality issues.
  • Are excited to communicate with users and help them solve their problems.
  • Are fluent in English and have advanced writing skills.
  • Are a good team player but also work well on your own.

We would be especially thrilled if you have experience:

  • In IDE testing.
  • With iOS or Android development.
  • With macOS as an operating system.
  • Working with bug trackers, version control systems, and continuous integration systems.
  • Using software development tools such as Xcode, Android Studio, IntelliJ IDEA, Eclipse, etc.
