About the job

The Go-to-Market Operations (GtM) organization ensures Google’s complex and ever-evolving business runs smoothly. We are instrumental in setting go-to-market strategy, and ensuring flawless execution and operations against the strategy. We have teams embedded in each of the major Ads business areas as well as global teams that work across the business areas. Team members are analytical and strategic, with a pragmatic sense of how to get things done.

The Business Strategy & Operations team provides business critical insights using analytics, ensures cross-functional alignment of goals and execution, and helps teams drive strategic partnerships and new initiatives forward. We stay focused on aligning the highest-level company priorities with effective day-to-day operations, and help evolve early stage ideas into future-growth initiatives.

As an Operations and Communications Specialist, you will closely collaborate with the Government Affairs & Public Policy (GAPP) leadership team to deliver on key strategic projects, run operations and get results. You will also support the development of high quality written products for policy purposes in coordination with EMEA Comms and GAPP Global Visits teams. The role requires attention to detail, a proactive mindset, a get-things-done attitude, and the ability to communicate effectively across teams and with people from around the world.

Google takes its responsibilities seriously, including engaging with government and other stakeholders on important public policy challenges. The Government Affairs and Public Policy (GAPP) team leads the company’s engagement with executive branch officials, legislators, regulators and third-parties in the formation of public policy. Working closely with Google leaders, GAPP seeks to identify key policy issues, listen carefully to others’ views and opinions, and distill and share the company’s perspective on those issues with external stakeholders. While we focus on challenges affecting the internet, our issue areas are increasingly broad and encompass many areas where public policy, business, and technology intersect.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and coordinate a Europe-wide strategy for consistent and meaningful engagement with key policy stakeholders (e.g. policymakers, think tanks, NGOs, academics, industry leaders, etc.).
  • Work closely with Strategy & Operations leads and cross-functional team members to develop and deploy collateral materials, speeches, and policy briefings that can improve external stakeholder trust and perception.
  • Drive internal communications (e.g. drafting emails, weekly reports, presentations) and support other ongoing operations for the team.
  • Run strategic initiatives and cross-region coordination. Use cross-functional knowledge to understand issues, trends, and perspectives that may influence our partners and our work.
  • Identify problems and issues across the organization proactively and create programs and/or processes to solve them.
