Intuitive’s Global Public Affairs team is at the center of driving and developing the company’s media relations, advocacy, government relations and thought leadership strategy and activities.
The Media Relations & Public Affairs Specialist is responsible for contributing to all facets of the team’s mission to protect and promote the company.
The primary focus of the role is to help ensure that the Public Affairs & Media Relations tactical plans are executed strategically and successfully to support our business in Germany and the MEE region, in close cooperation with other departments, medical experts and PR-agencies, also including support of internal communications, executive communications programs, and social media.
Roles And Responsibilities
This position will support the activities and strategy of the Global Public Affairs team, which includes - among others - the following responsibilities in the fields of media relations and public affairs:
- Support internal and external communications activities in the MEE-region (mainly Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Czech Republic), including, e.g. PAG and media outreach, event management and key stakeholder engagement
- Writing texts, press releases, social media posts, newsletters, and other publications
- Answering media inquiries
- Preparing media appointments, press conferences and industry events
- Support production of (scientific) medical contents
- Oversee the development of objectives and initiatives (proactive and reactive)
- Create story ideas and publications, covering developments within the business
- Contact person for PR agencies on specific projects
- Supporting the regional Public Affairs & Media relations manager in her work
- Completed studies in journalism/communications and/or journalistic training or training as a PR manager.
- 2-3 years of professional experience in a similar position or agency.
- Experience in the healthcare or medical device sector an advantage.
- Must be fluent in English and German.
- Deadline- and service-oriented and able to work effectively under pressure to meet media requests.
- Flexible, calm and experienced in providing counsel during time-sensitive situations.
- Willing to contribute to projects that fall outside of core responsibilities, as needed.
- Able to execute effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-starter who is able to manage day-to-day operations while remaining in regular contact with direct supervisor.
