    UL’s Identity Management & Security (IMS) is looking to add a Business Development Strategist - Industry 4.0 & Smart Buildings. In this highly visible role at UL, the Business Development Strategist is a key leader for UL’s cybersecurity business, focused on two ecosystems Industry 4.0 and Smart Buildings. You will be the leader to help champion our thought leadership efforts in both ecosystems.

    Your goal will be to intimately understand market needs and trends, demand drivers, and advise the organization on
    • the market segments we should focus on;
    • the cybersecurity solutions we should develop;
    • the partnerships that will help us better solve the problems our clients are facing;
    • the delivery requirements of the market;
    • the best sales channels for the market;
    • potential acquisition targets
    You will partner with the leaders of our service lines and support functions and ensure that adequate coordination is happening to execute on the cybersecurity business plan for both ecosystems.
    • Own and coordinate the execution of the company’s business plan for the cybersecurity of both ecosystems.
    • Understand the market trends affecting our customers (and end-customers), partners and targeted segments.
    • Meet with officers and senior management to maximize the coordination of BD objectives, strategies and associated practices. Meet with customers and partners regularly to determine service challenges and needs.
    • Develop and coordinate executive presentations and de-briefings.
    • Represent the organization in appropriate committees and forums. Provide external leadership through presentations and arranging meetings with executives in key industries and markets.
    • Work with sales managers on developing commercial strategies and go-to-market plans to generate the target profitable growth.
    • Design a successful Market Intelligence process for these ecosystems. Monitor key industry competitors, disruption, new technologies.
    • Create offers Unique Value Proposition and profitable business plan associated in collaboration with the service line.
    • Collaborate with sales, operations and marketing teams.
    • Recommend equity investments.
    • University Degree (Equivalent to Bachelor’s degree) in Engineering or a related discipline plus a minimum of 5 years related experience in the Industry 4.0 space.
    • MBA and/or advanced technical degree.
    • Experience creating and implementing business plans (Business Plan, Go-to-Market,…).
    • Thought leadership in cybersecurity (required), in particular in the Industry 4.0 (mandatory) and Smart Buildings space (preferred).
    • Closing skills.
    • Fluent in English.
