sennder is a European digital freight forwarder looking for a Lead Frontend Engineer to join our Carrier & Driver Team. The role is based out of the Berlin office and will report to our Engineering Director. Do you want to help us shape the future of the logistics industry?

As a Lead Frontend Engineer you’ll be part of building micro-frontends, deployment improvements as well as mentoring and growing other engineers.

You’ll be collaborating closely with engineers from other teams and lead architecture and process improvements towards a best-in-class freight Carrier experience including Fleet Planning, Orders Marketplace and more.

In this role you will:
  • Be the technical lead for the team which build top-notch and intuitive front-ends for internal use as well as for our customers
  • Be heavily involved in the setup and maintenance of the tools we choose together to build these front-ends
  • Be a part of our agile, smart and open minded development team
  • Set the technology vision and architectural direction for the team and execute against that vision and agreed-on target state.
  • Promote and maintain a healthy culture of collaboration and inclusion, leading by example in line with the engineering and company values where people can fulfill their potential.
  • Get better every day by taking on challenging tasks and learning from experienced peers
  • Focus on learning, applying, and extending best-in-class industry practices to continue to raise the bar within data engineering.
Preferably you are:
  • A good communicator with the ability to listen to your team members while also speaking up when you notice something that needs to be fixed
  • Experienced in leading development teams
  • Experienced in TypeScript
  • Experienced with at least one common front end frameworks (Vue.JS or React)
  • Knowledgeable in JavaScript/ES6 and its ecosystem, ideally also of other programming languages
  • Experienced in backend and thus providing a fullstack mentality
  • Passionate to share knowledge and strive to learn from others
  • Constantly striving for improving processes and thinking in long-term wins
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken)
