THE JOB
The Key Account Manager (KAM) is responsible for sales performance and relationship management of key strategic accounts on a global basis. The primary objective of the KAM will be to actively engage with stakeholders of strategic accounts, as well as distribution networks and end customers to facilitate sales growth at the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) account. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of engines, controls, marine electronics, and has expert knowledge of global boat builders and shipyards serving recreational, commercial, and military verticals. The secondary objective will be to facilitate a pipeline of account support, including technical product training, applications, and proposal support, as well as creating and supporting marketing requirements created by Sea Machines or the OEM. The KAM will be principally measured on sales performance and overall growth of the account.
Responsibilities
- Own the relationship with OEM’s that resell Sea Machines equipment and facilitate sales growth
- Serve as the liaison to support OEM stakeholders with the OEM distribution channels, (engine distributors and boat builders.
- Build sales initiatives that motivate the use of marine autonomy for specific OEM product packages.
- Create and contribute to forecasts that reflect global marine engine and electronics equipment consumption data
- Maintain global relationships through speaking engagements and assisting OEM customer outreach at customer events, including International Boat Shows and relevant industrial trade shows.
- 5-10 + years of experience in sales management, with at least 5 years international experience.
- Deep understanding of global marine industry, knowledge of regional market demand for marine diesel engines and marine electronics, spanning verticals of recreational, commercial, and military market.
- Extensive experience building forecasts and executing sales performance to meet set goals.
- The position will entail extensive global travel, and after-hours meetings to maintain global relationships.
- A result and success-oriented mentality, convey a sense of urgency and drive issues to closure.
- An innate drive to innovate and optimize the use of available resources.
- Comfort with adapting and adjusting to multiple demands, shifting priorities and rapid change.
- Strong attention to detail and superior organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize to manage multiple projects on tight timelines.
- Proficiency in Salesforce preferred.
- Excellent collaboration, communication and writing skills.
- Excellent computer skills and strong proficiency with Microsoft Office software.
