  • As Junior Category Manager, you support Combination Product Development projects globally within Sourcing for the Global Category Raw-, Packaging- & Device Materials. Within these projects the focus of your work is on Medical Devices and Primary Packaging components.
  • In projects you will manage the supplier selection process in alignment with the global category managers (e.g. market & supplier screening / tendering procedures / contractual negotiations).
  • Working closely with Senior Category Managers, you will drive and implement the category strategies in line with the overall BI procurement strategy to ensure supply security, to optimize value and to reduce costs.
  • As a point of contact, you ensure that business partners are adequately supported over the full product lifecycle and common strategies are implemented in the best interest of BI.
  • As part of supplier management, you identify and evaluate both potential and existing suppliers and maintain close relationships.
  • Finally, you will optimize purchasing channels, take advantage of market opportunities, and use our procurement tools efficiently.

As a Category Manager you will additionally take on the following tasks & responsibilities:



  • You will take the lead of cross-functional business teams to ensure optimization of external spend and process innovation.
  • You provide guidance to the respective Sourcing organizations in the countries how to implement Combination Product Development projects and strategies for Launch and Commercial supply life cycle.

Requirements



  • Master’s degree in business administration preferred or bachelor’s degree with several years’ relevant experience
  • First professional experience in Sourcing within the pharmaceutical industry and international market experience in Medical Devices and/or Primary Packaging are required
  • Sound understanding of supplier and contract management, negotiation techniques and management of complex projects
  • Team player with intercultural awareness and strong communication skills in English and German
  • Open-minded, persuasive, and perseverant personality and willingness to take on responsibility

As Category Manager:



  • Several years’ of relevant experience in contracting, sourcing or procurement as well as good market knowledge in the defined markets
  • You additionally have strong project-management skills in complex projects, including experience in leading cross-functional teams that consist of internal and external partners
  • Furthermore, you have global and intercultural working experience, ability to work in cross-functional teams and willingness for international business trips
