Foundation Project Manager in Geneva, Switzerland – Your next position?

Multiple location: Argenteuil (France), Ashford (UK), Naarden (Netherlands), Dortmund (Germany), Geneva (Switzerland)

(Preferred working location in Geneva but flexible in other European countries where Givaudan offices are located)

The Givaudan Foundation is a non-profit organisation created by Givaudan in 2013 as a result of the Company’s desire to reinforce its commitment towards the communities in which it operates. Our mission is to make a difference within the communities where Givaudan sources and operates, and we focus our efforts on education, health and environment preservation. We operate in two pillars: Communities where Givaudan sources natural ingredients and Communities where Givaudan employees work.

As a Foundation Project Manager you will oversee a project portfolio focusing on the communities who produce natural ingredients for the fragrance and flavour world. Projects range from supporting rural development of Madagascar vanilla growing villages in terms of education, health, sanitation and nutrition to enabling the adoption of good agricultural practices in Egypt or Haiti.

In this position you will:

  • Management of a portfolio of 10+ projects in various countries
  • Identify relevant social and environmental projects in naturals sourcing countries;
  • Manage project scoping: defining goals and deliverables;
  • Lead tender, selection process and contracting of partner organizations;
  • Support local project teams in the project planning and execution;
  • Execute the project plan(s) within approved budget;
  • Monitor project achievements and implement corrective actions whenever necessary;
  • Manage project reporting to internal and external stakeholders: status and achievements and next steps;
  • Collaborate with Givaudan Corporate Sustainability and Procurement departments on some of project components.

Your professional profile includes:
  • Minimum a Bachelor Degree (Masters preferred) in International Development Studies or Agronomy
  • Minimum 6 years’ experience in project management, preferably in developing countries
  • Experience in both private sector and international non-governmental organization an asset
  • Good understanding of corporate social responsibility, responsible sourcing and natural raw material supply chains
  • Experience in Natural Climate solutions an asset
  • Excellent written and spoken English and French; Spanish language a plus
  • Willingness to travel (10%) including to developing countries
  • Conscientious and pragmatic approach to problem identification and resolution, capacity to negotiate priorities and seek creative solutions
  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with various stakeholders and colleagues from diverse cultural backgrounds in shared efforts, to listen and learn from diverse perspectives
  • Passionate about caring for communities and nature through philanthropic solutions well connected to corporate activities
