Financial Analyst

Key Role:

Provide audit and expense financial support to a Department of Defense (DoD) contract. Attention to data and detail is the key to success in this role. Day to day activities include expense reviews and approvals. Analyze expense reports in compliance with government and corporate policies and procedures. Perform research and data gathering to identify key themes. Work with complex financial data sets. Identify problems and risk issues, develop, and coordinate resolutions, and design robust reports from large amounts of qualitative and quantitative data. Identify areas of improvement. Manage data and develop Microsoft Excel reports to support project execution and completion. Build and manage a dynamic reporting tool that incorporates financial data into live feedback to staff. Review internal project management processes, make recommendations for process changes, communicate changes with senior leadership and implement appropriate processes. Work with geographically dispersed teams and foster relationships.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Experience with financial or audit analysis
  • Experience with data management
  • Ability to research, gather data, and audit financials
  • Ability to work in a dynamic team environment with independent projects
  • Ability to conduct research across multiple platforms and create presentations, charts, analyses, and reports across Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
  • Ability to meet deadlines, adhere to project plans, ensure any conflicts are brought to the attention of the management team, multi-task, and work on several projects simultaneously, track and manage cradle-to-grave issues and corresponding resolutions
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
  • Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of experience working in a professional environment

Additional Qualifications:
  • Experience with monthly reporting, meeting support, and briefing development
  • Experience with SharePoint is a plus
  • Experience reviewing expense reports
  • Knowledge of Department of State Standard Regulations (DSSR)
  • Possession of excellent time management and interpersonal skills
  • Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $49,800.00 to $102,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
