Your Role

We are looking for a seasoned and accomplished leader for our Data Science team. The ideal candidate is expected to have passion and curiosity towards solving big and complex problems in traditional and fragmented industries while nurturing a team of highly analytical and data-obsessed scientists and analysts.

You will

• Define, shape, and build the data science and product analytics function at Forto, establishing data science as a driver of objective decision making across the company
• Hire, grow and mentor a multi-disciplinary team of data scientists and product analysts, passionate and curious about solving big and complex problems
• Understand the current industry and business practices to identify opportunities for improving and enhancing the existing Forto products and services
• Translate insights into product direction, use expertise in complex systems modeling, scenario simulation, machine learning, and demand/supply forecasting to generate measurable improvements in business outcomes
• Be a trusted expert and stakeholder who effectively interfaces and partners with the central Data Engineering team and ensure completeness and quality of your team’s data
• Foster strong working relationships and collaborate as a thought partner for leaders on Product, Engineering, Operations, and Business teams to influence roadmaps and decisions
  

You have

• 10+ years of experience in data science, product analytics, investment banking, applied machine learning, or related quantitative role
• 5+ years of experience in managing data science teams and a proven track record of attracting and hiring strong talent, including people managers
• Established yourself as a data-driven and results-oriented leader who can operate effectively among highly cross-functional organizations
• Experience in identifying, scoping, initiating, and driving cross-functional projects to completion with minimal guidance
• Strong experience and senior presence in communicating and presenting results of an analysis to senior leadership
• Fluency in SQL and a scripting language such as Python or R, and willingness to mentor a junior team
• Experience in scalable data architectures such as Delta Lake and in cloud infrastructures such as Amazon Sage Maker or Google Compute Engine is a plus
• Working knowledge of ETL, automation scripts, data pipelines, and visualization tools
• An advanced degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research, Economics, Computer Science, or a similar domain
