ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES

Consumer Analytics Team is part of the bigger Business Intelligence hub and belongs to the Strategy, Planning, and Insights Department (SP&I). We are constantly looking for new ways to enhance our consumer understanding in the new era of digital data. We are building a new eco-system for consumer data analytics and business intelligence aiming to unlock the potential of big data to empower even more advanced marketing activation. The Data Scientist (with data focus) will be responsible for establishing connections to respective data sources, optimizing datasets, building production-ready data science applications, and optimizing them using state of the art data science tools in collaboration with the business analysts, data engineers and system architects (both internal and external). This role is officially based in our German hub in Hamburg, Germany.

What You Will Be Accountable For
  • You drive the roadmap of analytics use cases and products from the data modelling perspective
  • Together with the business analysts and data engineers, you develop statistical models, machine learning and AI applications
  • You monitor, optimize, and extend existing statistical models and applications at scale
  • You work on data visualisation and development of analytics reporting tools for internal stakeholders
  • You drive optimisation measures and enhancements for ensuring and improving data quality standards within the company
  • You address data connectivity challenges in close collaboration with the Data Engineering team

Education And Work Experience Required

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
  • Successfully completed academic studies of computer science, mathematics, machine learning or other technical/scientific studies
  • 3+ years of work experience in Data Science in collaboration with Data Engineers
  • Experience of executing end-to-end data science projects in marketing space (e.g., consumer segmentation, CLV modelling, RFM modelling, churn prediction)
Skills Required
  • Expertise in developing analytical models in the area of statistics, machine learning, AI or optimization (using technologies such as R/Python, Spark, Power BI)
  • Good understanding of system architecture design and familiarity with data engineering methodologies
  • Performance tracking approaches like A/B testing for continuous optimization
  • Analytical thinking that complements the outstanding programming skills
  • Self-driven innovator, keen to develop and work on something new
  • Fast learner, eager to work with new technologies
  • Positive collaborator with good communication skills

  • Exposure to Business Data Domains like Customer Data Management is a plus
  • Fluent in English, German is a plus
