Business IT Leader CIO Office

You will lead the BT Office and partner with other BTO heads to facilitate demand management. You show a strong external orientation, knowledge about the market, trends and their stakeholders.

Partner with the full organization

• Communicate effectively with the CIO, BTO heads, Business and other stakeholders on TenneT’s technology strategy and initiatives
• Provide regular status updates to the relevant stakeholders on technology initiatives and projects

Perform technology management and implementation

• Work with business leaders to develop and maintain enterprise portfolio and long-term enterprise plan, and to incorporate cross-portfolio decisions
• Ensure standards and practices are adapted and followed within the BTO with a dotted line for cybersecurity to the CEO
• Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to identify and address technology needs
• Stay informed of industry developments and trends in technology and make recommendations for improvements
• Create and manage the IT budget, including identifying areas for cost savings

Perform people management

• Provide leadership and direction for the BTO, in particular to the BTO heads, and ensure that BTO departments have the necessary resources and support to meet objectives

You enables the entire BTO by providing the leadership, management and vision necessary to ensure that the BTO has the proper operational controls, administrative and reporting procedures, and people systems in place. You will focus on output, manage the broad lines and show a strong external orientation.

Skills & qualifications

• Set clear directions for department/direct reports and keep an overview of running processes/ projects
• Learn quickly to find solutions for the teams/BTO/TenneT when facing changes or new problems
• Clearly communicating priorities with teams/individuals and possible changes that are lying ahead
• Ensure compliance with laws, regulations and internal policy and guidelines, sticks to made agreements

Domain expertise

• Enable agility by supporting bottom-up activities and ad hoc actions that fit into the strategic framework – locates it on the strategy roadmap2
• Have experience in project management skills to drive a portfolio of organization-wide level initiatives
• Have experience in managing finance, procurement and people ops

You are a senior IT leader with strong technical and leadership skills. You are a natural, servant leader who can inspire a large team. You are familiar with industry standards and best practices in IT operations, including management and maintenance of IT infrastructure in a 24/7 environment.

Furthermore:

• You have a degree in Computer Science or related field, or a clear affinity with Computer Science
• You have at least 10+ years of experience in a comparable job
• You are fluent in English, German and/or Dutch is an advantage

This is a 100% dedicated role to lead engineering competency & practices, and vendor management.
