The Big Parts Stamping Expert AUT EMEA is responsible for new Stamping technologies with focus on big parts stamping in midsize and large volumes. In addition to this, the person will review existing stamping processes and work together with TE’s Stamping departments on improving those continuously with the aim to reach maximum profitability and productivity. This role will closely cooperate with functions like ME, COE, Shop Floor and EMEA Management.
Tasks Summary & Responsibilities
The role incumbent is the Big Part Stamping Expert for AUT EMEA and responsible for
- Provide best in class knowledge and focus on Stamping and Deep Drawing of parts with thick materials/metals with 2-6mm
- Provide best operational practices in big part stamping incl. digital capabilities and processes
- Assure manufacturing readiness with focus on our new product portfolio (HEMS, Data Connectivity)
- Interfacing to other Stamping teams outside AUT EMEA
- Manufacturing related decisions are closely aligned with functional leaders and controlling
- Ensures that AUT EMEA’s Stamping departments are technically and technologically positioned to be a source of competitive advantage and are capable of delivering the short, mid & long-term performance as needed by the business
- Optimization and standardization of our stamping processes in AUT EMEA.
- Standardization of machinery and peripheral equipment
- Drive alignment with leadership and plant management regarding future state of Stamping process /roadmap
- Coach stamping departments on best in class Stamping technologies
- Critically questioning the existing/running processes, tools and technologies to identify areas for improvement with focus on productivity and profitability.
- Developing of new concepts for stamping and production in close collaboration with Center of Excellence (CoE), Manufacturing Engineering (ME) and Tool & Die (T&D)
- Driving initiatives for plant productivity increase, automation, material saving, and cost reduction to aim for the most profitable processes
- Aligning stamping activities with management goals and expectations as well as the roadmaps and strategies and future technologies and break through initiatives which are supporting cost savings.
- Ensures availability of right manufacturing competences for new products, processes and locations
- Drives and supports building up of required competences in supporting departments
- Responsible to continuously drive towards lean manufacturing through the elimination of redundancy and waste
- Provide input to TE’s EMEA manufacturing strategy
- Master Degree (Mechanical Engineering or other technical stream)
- Several years experience in various Engineering or Process Development assignments. Automotive industry preferred.
- Experience in Stamping environment
- Management experience in a engineering/production environment preferred
- First knowledge on Big part stamping, preferably in Automotive environment
- Knowledge about stamping processes with thick materials (metals, copper alloy, …)
- Good knowledge on producing midsize and large volumes in a profitable manner
- Excellent market and stamping supplier knowledge
- Bring a clear understanding of excellent stamping solutions
- Clear understanding of “State of the Art” in Stamping
- Open minded to drive change
- Organizational change management capabilities
- Fluent in English and German both written and spoken
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Culturally sensitive
- Strong presentation skills
- Ability to convince
