The Chief Risk Office function has Group-wide responsibility for the management and control of all credit, market, operational, enterprise and liquidity risks and has the responsibility of continual development of methods for risk measurement, frameworks and creating a Bank wide strong risk culture. Deutsche Bank has been named Bank Risk Manager of the Year by the publication risk.NET for the second consecutive year (2020 & 2021).

Within the CRO, Model Risk Management (MoRM) is responsible for the management of model risk, including the independent validation of internal models as well as the identification and the monitoring & controlling of model risk. Our aim is to identify, aggregate, manage and mitigate risk across the core activities of market risk, credit risk, operational risk management and business models.

You will be joining the Model Risk Management Chief Operating Officer team as a Business Management Specialist. You will support the global cost and resource agenda for the department, working on several activities to support the global COO agenda.

You will have experience working in a similar role involving cost and resource Management and in particular, experience of cost reporting, monthly tracking of costs and resources, cost allocations and use of Excel. You will be involved in budgeting and resource management activities on a global basis and will work closely with several key stakeholders on a global basis; Model Risk Management /Regional Chief Operating Officer’s (COO), Finance, Human Resources and the Chief Administrative Office.

What You’ll Do

  • Support the global COO and CAO in delivering their strategic and operational responsibilities

  • Ensure effective financial management, in partnership with Finance and the CRO COO team, with a clear understanding of cost drivers, trends and forecasts

  • Support strategic planning across Model Risk with effective management reporting of costs and headcount movements (e.g. hiring, attrition, etc), tracking cost saving strategies and ensuring they are delivered

  • Maintain the DBCM (Driver Based Cost Management) allocations

  • Undertake office space planning requirements and coordinate with local facilities management to support the real estate strategy. Contribute to the Bank’s Future of Work initiatives and drive the implementation across the division

  • Provide ad-hoc support as when required for senior management requests (e.g., developing presentations leveraging data points captured across the function)

Skills You’ll Need

  • A proven track record of operating in a Business Management role or having experience in a role with similar responsibility

  • High proficiency in all Microsoft Office Applications (specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and German

  • Very good analytical skills

  • High level of negotiation/communication skills including the ability to work independently, as well as part of a team and virtual working groups
