About you and this role
Dow has a new open role for a Business Communications Manager in Dow’s Coatings & Performance Monomers business, supporting the Europe, Middle East, Africa and India (EMEAI) region. The preferred location for this position is Wiesbaden (Germany). Additional locations we offer are Seneffe (Belgium), Madrid (Spain), or Terneuzen (The Netherlands).
In this role you are responsible for developing and executing communication strategies in alignment with business and market strategies for Dow’s Coatings & Performance Monomers business in EMEAI. You will also collaborate closely with multiple function and business stakeholders to develop integrated promotion plans including but not limited to digital campaign development, virtual and in-person events, media engagement, and content and key messaging development.
This position is part of the Dow Performance Materials & Coatings Business Communications Team and will report to the Coatings & Performance Monomers Communications Leader.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of marketing communication plans in alignment with business marketing strategies, utilizing appropriate channels to engage target audiences
- Provide strategic guidance and oversight for regional and global market areas during the planning process
- Create, manage, and deliver engaging content for our target audience, including message development, writing, storytelling, video production, and graphic design direction
- Focus on external project implementation across various channels, such as media, social, digital, and traditional, coordinating updates, proofreading, and project production
- Support the EMEAI Commercial Leadership Team for Dow Coatings Materials, offering counsel and actively participating as a valuable team member
- Take ownership of project budgets and resource management/billing for regional and global market areas, including selecting suppliers and managing work relationships
- Support brand management through new product/capability brand development, trademark management, thought leadership and reputation, and co-branding strategy support
- Measure communication outcomes, providing insights and recommendations to communications and marketing planning, analyze program trends and advise marketing leaders on best practices, channel selection and other strategic insights
- Regularly communicate and collaborate with local and global teams to ensure alignment with global/regional marketing and marketing communications priorities and to leverage and share communications materials and best practices
- Foster communication and collaboration with regional business and commercial leaders to align with cross-functional regional priorities
- Develop appropriate level of internal communication strategies to ensure awareness of business strategy and progress
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field
- 6-10 years of experience in marketing, business communications or related, preferably B2B
- Demonstrated project management experience
- Ability to work effectively with diverse cultures, functions, and businesses
- Proficiency in digital communications, content marketing, excellent writing and editing skills, and strong organizational abilities
- Excellent interpersonal, networking, problem-solving, negotiation, and leadership skills
- Strong commitment to inclusivity, diversity, creativity, and outside-in thinking
- A value-add mentality with a focus on personal development and clarity in priorities and expectations
- Fluency in English
Preferred Skills
- Experience in a PR agency and/or a multinational environment
- Proficiency in any other European language
